Albert Einstein was born in the German town of Ulm during the year 1879.

Albert Einstein was born in the German town of Ulm during the year 1879, whilst he and his Jewish family moved to the city of Munich in 1880. At school the young Albert Einstein was a very gifted musician, before becoming a top class student of mathematics as well as physics. Albert Einstein moved away from his native Germany in the year 1900 to the Swiss city of Zurich to go to university. Einstein liked Switzerland so much that he became a Swiss citizen two years later.

An Outstanding Scientific Legacy

Without doubt Albert Einstein was one of the most intelligent and influential scientists to have ever lived. From the beginning of the twentieth century Albert Einstein developed far-ranging and highly profound scientific theories as well as models. Arguably Albert Einstein’s legacy is still being felt today, decades after his death in the year 1955. Such was Albert Einstein’s contribution to scientific knowledge and theories

In terms of increased scientific knowledge as well as understanding Albert Einstein’s legacy is arguably beyond comparison. In the early years of the twentieth century Albert Einstein put forward the scientific theories and models that firmly established his reputation. In many respects the year 1905 proved to be the year that made his reputation and ensured that he had a long-lasting legacy. His most notable work of 1905 was ‘On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies.

A Lasting Legacy

Albert Einstein’s legacy was ensured by his theories concerning relativity, which were first published during the year 1916. The publication of ‘The Foundation of the General Theory of Relativity’ cleared questions about the solar system that the theories of Newton and Copernicus had failed to answer. Albert Einstein’s legacy was also assured by his campaigning for peace and also Zionism during the 1930s and the 1940s. He died during the course of 1955.
